The Luther Library is a part of the Mid-Michigan Library League's Inter-Library Loan Program. This means you have access to books and other Library materials that we do not have. Luther Library can borrow the needed materials for you from another library. This usually takes around a week. Due to rising costs, there is a $2.50 per book charge for this service to cover delivery costs.
The Library's four teen computers, two adult desktop computers and two laptops, came to us through grants from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. All of these computers have Internet high speed DSL access and are available to the public.
The Library has wireless internet. You can bring in your laptop and hook up to our internet. There is also a station where you can hook up your desktop computer. We have the monitor and cords, etc. so all you need to bring is your computer tower.
For children's safety, the Library has two computers for the kids with no internet, but loaded with games.
The Library has a policy of 30 minutes of computer usage. If no one is waiting to use a computer, the user may continue for a longer time. We also make exceptions for online schooling and special school projects.
The Library is very fortunate to have Roger Peel as a part of our team. Roger is a volunteer fundraiser for the Library. He does computer repair work for the public for a minimum donation of $10 (parts extra) to the Library. Roger has worked in various areas of computers for years and is now putting his experience to work for us. You can call the Library @ 797-8006 to set up an appointment with Roger for your computer needs.
and a projector (with a new screen built by Roger). As soon as we iron out the details, we plan to hold Wii tournaments. If you have suggestions or would like to help, please let us know. We have Rock Band for the Wii and will be setting up times to play this (probably not during our regular hours). There will be a sign up list for Wii activities starting around January 31. We are also hope to use the projector to show movies. The Library Boosters purchased the Wii, and the Village of Luther purchased the projector for the Library. Other local organizations may use the projector.
